Health, Safety and Environmental Policy Statement
The Management Team at Wensum Valley Services Ltd are committed to maintaining high standards of Health, Safety and Environmental management and believe that good Health, Safety & Environmental performance is an integral part of efficient and profitable business management. We are fully aware of the responsibilities placed upon us under the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, The Environmental Protection Act 1990 and other statutory provisions. We therefore intend to meet those responsibilities as far as is reasonably practicable by placing health, safety and environmental management on an equal footing with all of the company’s operations.
The objectives of the company policy are, so far as is reasonably practicable:
- To minimise risks to the health, safety and welfare of those working for and on behalf of Wensum Valley Services Ltd as well as clients, the general public and others affected by its activities and;
- To minimise risks to the environment.
All reasonable measures will be taken to ensure that a safe working environment is created and sound working procedures are followed so that the minimum number of injuries and ill health occur within our company and to prevent pollution, reduce waste and safeguard the environment.
The Management Team have responsibility for implementing this Policy throughout the firm. They must ensure health, safety and environmental considerations are always given priority in planning and day-to-day supervision of work so that risks are systematically eliminated or otherwise reduced and controlled. With regard to environmental and waste issues, advice will be sought from the Environment Agency where required. In a similar manner, meeting the requirements of Regulation 7 of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999, specialist advice and guidance will be sought from external agencies as required.
All those working for or on behalf of Wensum Valley Services Ltd are expected to co-operate in carrying out this policy throughout the company’s activities and must ensure that their own work, so far as is reasonably practicable, is carried out without risk to themselves, others or the environment. All those working for or on behalf of the company, including any sub contractors, will be made aware of this policy and the importance of commitment to its objectives.
The company will endeavour to ensure that all persons working for or on behalf of Wensum Valley Services Ltd receive adequate information, instruction and training to enable them to comply with their duties under this policy and under Health ,Safety and Environmental legislation.
The organisation and arrangements for implementing this Policy are set out in the Policy document. The Policy will be kept up to date as the business changes and in response to changes in legislation or best practice. To ensure this, the Policy and the way in which it has operated, will be reviewed annually or as the need arises.
